Kodiaks Take 3 points in Medicine Hat

In a battle between bitter rivals it was the Kodiaks men who came into Medicine Hat and left with three points. Similar to the women's game the Kodiaks came out early and scored the opening goal on a shot from Ryder Skolka after a scramble in front of the MHC goal in the 16th minute. The Rattlers battled back to tie the game on a goal by Tata Mugisha (1st yea, Moose Jaw, SK, Criminal Justice) that was hit past a sprawled-out Kodiaks keeper. The Rattler men continued to press in the 1st half seemingly coming away with the better of the opportunities but were unable to add to the scoreline.

The 2nd half had the Kodiaks with most of the pressure with the game taking a turn when they would get a numerical advantage in the 56th minute when Rattlers defender Deshaunt Gelinas- Cato (1st year, Regina SK, Kinesiology) was given his second yellow card. To add to the Rattlers bad fortune, an 82nd minute penalty kick was given to the Kodiaks which was put home by Ben Knight to seal the 3 points for the visitors.

The Tiki Press Player of the Game for the Rattlers was Goalkeeper Noah Scholly (1st year, Medicine Hat, AB, Nursing) and Joel McLeod for the Rattlers. The Rattlers will host Ambrose on Sunday in need of 3 points while the Kodiaks will host the only other undefeated team in SAIT on Sunday next week.
