Damir Omerovic

Head Coach Men's Soccer/Futsal

Coach Damir Omerovic, originally from Bosnia & Herzegovina, began his soccer journey as a player in the youth system of a professional club. Identified for his talent at a young age, he played a significant role in his club’s success during his formative years from 1993 to 1998 in the National Youth League.

His talent earned him a spot on the U-14 Provincial team of Kanton Tuzla in 1998, and by the age of 15, he was making waves in the domestic Premier League with his professional debut.
The following year, he received his first call-up for the U-17 National Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In 2001, Damir moved to Canada, where he continued to excel in his playing career, representing the U18 Provincial team of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Graduating from MHC in 2008 with a diploma in Business Administration (Marketing), he also left his mark as a former Rattler standout.

Transitioning seamlessly from player to coach, Damir has accumulated over a decade of coaching experience, spanning age groups from U12 to U18.
His coaching prowess was exemplified in 2022 when he steered the U15 Boys Rattlers Academy team to clinch the Alberta Provincial Championship gold medal. Continuing his streak of success, in 2024, Damir led the Rattlers Men’s Futsal team to a Silver medal at the ACAC Championship, while simultaneously guiding the Rattlers Academy U17 Boys team to triumph with a gold medal at the ASA Provincial Championship.

He is currently in his 3rd season with the MHC Rattlers Men’s & Women’s Soccer Program. Outside of soccer, he enjoys travelling with his family and supporting his twin boys’ soccer careers.
