Men's Basketball Season Recap 2023-24

Men's Basketball Season Recap 2023-24
The 2023-24 year started well for the Rattlers Men's Basketball squad.  During September and October, the team managed a 3-1 record in the pre-season, had a regular season-opening win, and handed St. Mary's University one of its only two regular season losses. Alas, the promising start did not last. Ultimately, the MHC ballers missed the playoffs and finished the year with a 4-17 record.

Injuries and illness played a pivotable role in the team's struggle this year.  With key players out of the line up in almost every game from November onwards, the Rattlers ended up on the short end of the score most nights, including a pair of one-point losses.

One shining light in an otherwise tough season was the play of Kieran Isnor. Isnor, who like many of his team mates was unable to dress for several games, scored an average of 20.5 points per game, good for sixth place in the ACAC regular season rankings.

At the 2023-24 MHC Athletic Awards banquet, the Rattlers Men's Basketball awards were presented to the following players:
Rattler Award – Fred Kabore
Rookie of the Year – Kace Archuleta
Most Valuable Player – Jordan Biggar

As the team looks forward, surely the basketball gods will be kinder to Rattlers Men's Basketball squad and allow them to field a healthier squad in the 2024-25 season.
