Weekend Recap - Sept 20-22

Cross-County Running - September 20

The Rattlers women were led by rookie Pheonix Asprey, who placed third in the 6 km race run under unseasonably warm conditions. Maddie Scrimger (5th), Reyna Woodruff (7th) and Ellie Barlow (10th) followed closely. A much-improved Rattlers men's team fielded their first full team of the 2025 season and ended up in 4th place among eight colleges. Logan Pancoast had a strong run, finishing 5th over the 8 km distance.

 


 

Men's Soccer - September 20

Continuing their unbeaten start, the Rattlers men's team won 5-1 against the Ambrose Lions at home. Tata Mugisha showed a strong performance, scoring a hat-trick, followed by Aleksa Bijelic, who had two more goals. The Rattlers again found the back of the net in the beginning of the game. At the 13th minute, Klan Wol-Harden found Tata Mugisha inside the box to open the scoreboard after a corner-kick. The Ambrose Lions tried a comeback at the beginning of the second half, but the Rattlers quickly scored three more goals.

Women's Soccer - September 20

After a tough loss at home in the last game, the women's soccer team came out with a big win against the Ambrose Lions. Led by Nicoly Souza with a hat-trick, the Rattlers opened the scoreboard in the first 7 minutes of the game. Until the 82nd minute the Rattlers had a massive 4-0 lead, when Lindsay Hesjedal scored for the Lions. With this 4-1 win, the Rattlers Women's Soccer climbed to the fourth position in the standings, and they will play SAIT this weekend.

Golf - September 21-23

The ACAC Golf Championships teed off on September 21 and will conclude Tuesday, after three rounds.

Medicine Hat College's men's team is currently sitting fourth at +24 after the opening round. Rylan Hodgson led the way for the Rattlers with a 74 (+2). Isaac Stehr and Wyatt Bishop both carded 77 (+5), while Aidan Flynn finished with a 79 (+7) and Rylan Montgomery with an 80 (+8).

On the women's side, the Rattlers are in second place at +34. Ava Bratvold posted an 88 (+16) to pace the team. Kiara Reesor added a 90 (+18) and Zoe Hodgson a 93 (+21) to round out the Rattlers' scoring on Day 1.
