We are excited to announce the Rattlers Players of the Week, sponsored by Cheerleaders Barber Lounge and BYZ Enterprises, recognizing two athletes for their outstanding performances this past weekend.

#13 De'Shaunt Gelineas-Cato | Men's Futsal

After a weekend playing four games, De'Shaunt presented himself a solid wall in the back line of the Rattler Men's Futsal. However, was also important in clutch moments to scoring and helping the offence when needed.

When the Rattlers Men's Futsal team arrived in the South Regionals for the first weekend of competition, they already had secure two wins against Lethbridge Polytechnic. After four more games, the team secure 8 more points with two wins and two ties. De-Shaunt was essential part of keeping the undefeated reacord for the Rattlers. During the game versus the Olds Broncos, De'Shaunt moved to the offensive side of the court and scored the third goal for the rattlers on the match with 14 seconds left on the scoreclock. The goal tied the game and secured a tie for the lads. 

#10 Keandra Leslie | Women's Futsal

Finishing the weekend as a top-scorer for the women's, Keandra Leslie showed her pivotal role in the women's futsal team. 

After four games on the weekend, the women's team left Lethbrdige with three wins and one loss. Those extra nine points, added to the win against Lethbdirge prior to South Regionals, placed the ladies in second on the standings. With seven goals in four games, Leslie was the top-score from the south during regionals. Two of those, in a eletryfing win against the Red Deer Queens, when the Rattlers found the back of the net four times for a 4x3 win.  

Both men's and women's will be back in action February 22nd, when they travel to Olds for the second regionals on the south. Playoffs will be decided on that weekend.
