Dillon was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta and graduated from Medicine Hat High School. He has played competitive golf from 2004-present and received a division 1 full scholarship to Jacksonville University (Jacksonville, Florida) for 4 years. He is also currently competing on the PGA Tour of Alberta and has been doing so since 2017. 

While at Jacksonville University he completed his Economics Degree minoring in Psychology and also received his MBA.

The 2019/20 season is Dillon's first with the Rattlers but has been a PGA of Canada Professional teaching lessons for 4 years, and has been an assistant coach with Medicine Hat School's basketball team since 2015.
