Rattlers 22/23 Season Recap- Indoor Track

Women's Indoor Track

The momentum of the women's cross country running season transferred into the Indoor Track season with some runners getting massive results. At the ACAC Championships Becky Ross (Medicine Hat, AB | 1st year | Bachelor of Nursing) & Maddy Scrimger (Harrogate, UK | 1st year | General Studies) brought home gold and bronze respectively in the 3000m. Becky's gold was the first ever win for an MHC runner at an ACAC Indoor Track Championships. In the 1500m Ross fell just shy of the podium to finish 4th and finished 5th in the 1000m event. Teammate Cheldynn Molnar (Strathmore, AB | 2nd year | Occupational Physical Therapist Assistant) finished a respectable 4th in the 600m event. As a team the women came in 5th in the 4x200m and 4x400m relays. Overall, the women finished a respectable 4th overall in the cumulative standings. Ross was also named the ACAC Indoor Track Female Rookie of the Year.


Men's Indoor Track

The Men's Indoor Track team managed to get a team medal as they picked up a silver medal in the team 4x200m relay. This was the first ever top 3 placing for the men at an ACAC Championship. The men also finished just off the podium in 4th in the 3x400m relay event. Brannon Sumner (Medicine Hat, AB | 2nd year | U.T. Science) finished one spot off the podium in 4th in the 600m event. In the overall standings the men finished in 6th place.
