The Medicine Hat College (MHC) Rattlers and the Medicine Hat Soccer Association (MHSA) are pleased to announce that Miles Pinsent has been hired as the next head coach of the Rattlers men's and women's soccer/futsal teams. He will also take on the role of executive director for the MHSA.

Pinsent, who has a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and Bachelor of Physical Education (Sport Sciences) from the University of New Brunswick (UNB) in Fredericton, comes to Medicine Hat from UNB where he was the head coach at the USport School for the past 17 years.  He is a three time Atlantic University Sport (AUS) coach of the year award recipient and in 2012/13 was named Canadian University Men's Soccer Coach of the Year.  His UNB teams won 4 conference championships during his tenure and also a silver and bronzemedal at the USport National championships. He was also the head coach of the Canadian Men's Soccer Team for 2017 World Universiade Games in Taipei.

"I am excited to join the Rattler Nation.  I look forward to continuing the fine work of my predecessor, Robert Cavicchia, and the many others that have grown the sport in Medicine Hat.  I was drawn to this position because of the strong connections between the MHC Rattlers and the local soccer community.  I will work hard to ensure that the Rattlers are competitive on the pitch and that quality soccer opportunities exist in Medicine Hat," says Coach Pinsent.

Pinsent also has experience at the youth level, serving as the executive director of the Fredericton Boys and Girls Club.

Terry Ballard, manager of sport and wellness at MHC says, "We are very excited to have an experienced USports coach join our Rattlers staff, and look forward to the success and student-athlete development Miles will bring to the Rattlers soccer program, as well as to the soccer community of Medicine Hat.  The Rattlers soccer program is fortunate to have such a quality coach and person join our staff."
