Women’s Futsal Capture 5th Consecutive ACAC Gold Medal

In Lloydminster this weekend, the Medicine Hat College Rattlers Women's Futsal team played in the 2018 ACAC Women's Futsal Championship.  The women played five games over the three day tournament and brought home a 5th consecutive gold medal.  The men opened up the round robin portion of the tournament on Friday, with a hard fought 4-3 victory over the Lethbridge Kodiaks.  Saturday, the women played their remaining two round robin games.  In their first game the ladies played the Keyano Huskies and emerged with a 6-0 victory.  Their second game on Saturday saw the ladies hand the Ambrose Lions a 2-1 defeat.  With the win, the women finished first in their pool and set up a semifinal game against the King's University Eagles.  In Sunday's first semifinal game, the Rattlers came out strong and beat the King's Eagles 3-0 to advance to the tournament final.  In the final, the ladies came up against the Lethbridge Kodiaks.  In a tight game, the women battled hard and came out with a 3-0 victory that gave the ladies the gold medal and a fifth consecutive championship.  Meagan Clarke and Jordyn Bell led the way for the Rattlers all weekend and were deservedly named tournament all-stars.
