Men's Futsal Capture ACAC Bronze Medal

In Lloydminster this weekend, the Medicine Hat College Rattlers men's Futsal team played in the 2018 ACAC Men's Futsal Championship.  The men played five games over the three day tournament and brought home a bronze medal.  The men opened up the round robin portion of the tournament on Friday, with a hard fought 2-0 loss to the Olds Broncos.  Saturday, the men had to play their final two round robin games knowing that they likely needed two wins to make it to Sunday's medal round.  In their first game on Saturday, the men played The King's University Eagles and handed them a 7-3 loss.  They followed that up with a 9-2 victory over the Augustana Vikings to secure second place in their pool and a date with Keyano College in the semifinals on Sunday.  In the semifinal, the Rattlers got behind early trailing 5-1.  They found another gear and started the comeback.  The game was a back and forth battle between two evenly matched teams.  Unfortunately, the comeback fell just short and the Rattlers lost 6-5.  The loss sent the Rattlers to the bronze medal game against the host Lakeland Rustlers.  The Rattlers were determined to bring home a medal and the came out strong against Lakeland.  The won 5-2 and earned a bronze medal.  All tournament long, the Rattlers were led by the strong play of Tournament All-Stars Rodrigo Tavares and Jared Ursulan.
